Queenie Cake

The cake is made for celebrating a few (belated) birthdays and is dedicated to the abdication of our Queen Beatrix clearing the way for her eldest son, Crown-Prince Willem Alexander, to become our nation's first king in more than a century.

The crown change takes place on April 30, also known as Koninginnedag, which is a national holiday and renowned as one of the biggest and most colorful fesivities in the Netherlands. This year's festival will be jolly particularly due to the combined royal celebrations.

With the abdication, the Netherlands says farewell to a beloved and highly appreciated Queen.

It will surely bring an outpouring of sentimental feelings.

I'm totally into Marie Antoinette style lately. I think Marie could not have resisted these cute and good looking sweeties : ) or would she have left it untouched just because it looks nice? Mmmm, thàt I can imagine actually.

Note the teacups. They are not only nice to see but they're special as well.

You can bake and serve your cupcakes right in these teacup-shaped silicone molds and delight your tea party guests. The reusable, food-safe baking cups complete with saucers are most suitable for a elegant presentation. Remember, don't try serving tea inside these tecupcakes, they are for baked goods only!

Ik ben helemaal in de Marie Antoinette stijl op het ogenblik. Ik denk dat Marie deze cc's niet zou kunnen hebben weerstaan. Of zou ze het hebben laten staan alleen omdat het er wel leuk uitziet?

Let op de theekopjes en schotels! Prachtig niet? Je kan er ook in bakken.
Serveer je cupcakes direct in deze theekop-vormige siliconen mallen en verwen je thee party gasten. Deze herbruikbare backing kopjes, compleet met schotels, zijn geschikt voor een meest elegante presentatie. De kopjes zijn alleen geschikt voor bakdoeleinden en niet om er thee in te serveren.
Je cupcakes zien er heel chic uit als je ze hierin presenteert.

 

Romantische Cupcakes /Romantic Cupcakes

Collectie cupcakes gemaakt voor een vriendin die na een bijzonder moeilijke periode in haar leven eindelijk de zon weer ziet schijnen (nieuw huis, nieuwe liefde).

De cupcakes zijn dezelfde als op de afbeelding van de Mojito/Lime cupcakes.

De combinatie van roosjes, lingerie, bloemen en medaillon geven de cupcakes  door het zachte kleurgebruik een heel vrouwelijk look.

De reacties op de cupcakes waren  dan ook enorm positief (en niet van de dames alleen ).

Mojito/Lime & Vanille Cupcakes

Mijn vakantie zit er helaas alweer een tijdje op maar deze cupcakes met een

 Caribisch sfeertje geven me een zomers gevoel.

Ik zie het helemaal voor me: zon, strand, zee en (zeer slank) in bikini. Cocktail in het handje.

Mmmmm, niet gek toch?

De swirls zijn gemaakt van botercrème met een

scheutje Mojito, lime juice en een beetje schaafsel van de schil van de lime vrucht.

Voor de kleur heb ik een beetje kleurstof toegevoegd.
Ook het (homemade) cupcakebeslag kreeg een scheutje Mojito.
Het resultaat: een cupcake met een verfrissende limoensmaak.

Unfortunately my holiday has been a while but these cupcakes with a
Caribbean look gives me a summery feeling.
You can imagine the sun, the sand and the sea. And the cocktail of course.
Sounds good, doesn't it?

The swirls are made of butter cream with a dash of mojito, lime juice and zest of one lime. I also added a dash of Mojito in the (home made) batter.

The result: a cupcake with a refreshing lime taste
